Hayley Frielick

International 5* event rider

Hayley began riding in Terrey Hills, just outside of Sydney Australia after begging her non-horsey but ever supportive parents for riding lessons. Shortly after her family relocated to Scotland where she spent 6 years progressing through the fantastic foundations of the Pony Club and competitively show jumping ponies. Upon returning to Australia, she decided she wished to turn her hand to eventing and was incredibly fortunate to purchase a horse from a student of former world number 1 event rider, Chris Burton. Training with Chris fast-tracked Hayley's eventing career and she completed her first advanced just three years later with a clear and under time cross country aged 18.

Hayley went on to continue to produce various horses through the levels and also invested further in her own training, spending time with Tony Manca (coach of other notable Australian riders such as Olympic silver medallist, Kevin McNab). She achieved two top 10 placings at Adelaide 5*, which lead to her being named on the longlist for the 2020 Toykyo Olympics for NZ.

She relocated to compete internationally in the USA in 2022 with her self produced OTTB, Dunedin Black Watch, and has since successfully completed Maryland 5* and has gained invaluable experience across the East Coast including a 12th place finish in the CCI4*S at Kentucky 2023.

Coaching & Training

Hayley is passionate about sharing her knowledge and helping others achieve their goals. She finds training an incredibly rewarding pursuit, whether it is teaching a horse to jump for the first time or helping someone progress to their first recognized event.

She is incredibly patient and her positive approach aims to instil confidence in both horse and rider. She does not believe in shortcuts and is committed to her horses and students in helping to develop strong partnerships and good horsemanship.
