Bought as part of a two-for-one deal in rural Australia, an off-the-track Thoroughbred, not a big horse, with a heart and work ethic that more than made up for it. Produced by Hayley from his first ride to a Maryland 5★. Nelson is the horse that started it all: the OTTB Hayley brought across the world in 2022 to complete CCI5★ at Maryland on arrival, and to establish Dunedin's US base. He led the way for the others to follow. Today he competes at the lower levels with a young rider, teaching her the ropes, and loved every step of the way. It's great to see him out doing what he loves.
