"Finding the right horse, and the right people to help you acquire one, is harder than it should be."
Dunedin exists to bridge that gap, across three carefully run divisions.
We work with a select group of people who want to be involved in elite sport horse ownership, with the expertise, management and athlete in place to make it a genuine experience rather than just a transaction.
Co-ownership is a close partnership: one owner sharing a single competition horse alongside Dunedin. The horse is trained and competed by Hayley Frielick and managed by the team, so the owner shares fully in the journey, the competition days, the results, the decisions about the horse's pathway, without carrying the day-to-day work. Because it involves just one partner, co-ownership is the most involved and personal way to be part of a horse at this level. It is ownership built around genuine love of the sport, not a transaction. Every arrangement is structured carefully and discussed privately, in confidence, with Katie, Hayley or Martha.
Horse ownership opportunities are available to a small number of carefully selected people. We look for people who share our values, a genuine love of horses, appreciation for long-term thinking, and an understanding that elite sport takes time and patience. Equestrian background is not required.
Interested in co-ownership? Get in touch directly. All enquiries are handled personally by Katie, Hayley or Martha, in private and without obligation.
Owning a share of an elite event horse competing at the international level, with Hayley in the saddle, Martha sourcing from Europe, and Katie handling structure and member relations. We do the work. You enjoy the journey.
A syndicate is a group of people who together share ownership of one elite competition horse. Ownership is divided into shares, so several members each hold a part of the same horse and share in the experience, competition appearances, results and updates, and involvement in the horse's development, while Hayley rides and the Dunedin team handles all day-to-day management. Because a syndicate brings many people together around one horse, it is the most accessible way into elite sport horse ownership. Current syndicate arrangements are discussed individually and in confidence with Katie, Hayley or Martha.
The Dunedin JJ Syndicate (Sportsfield Johnny Logan) and Team Sunny Syndicate (Dunedin LB Muze) are currently active syndicates with Hayley at the helm. Both horses are performing at or moving toward international 4★ level. Get in touch if you'd like to know more about either syndicate.
The difference comes down to how many people share the horse. Co-ownership is a one-to-one partnership: a single owner alongside Dunedin, with the closest possible involvement in one horse's journey. A syndicate divides ownership of a horse into shares among a wider group, making the experience of elite ownership accessible to more people at a smaller individual commitment. Both rest on the same foundation: Hayley in the saddle, the team managing everything around the horse, and members sharing the journey rather than the work. Which one suits you is best worked out in conversation; Katie, Hayley or Martha will talk it through privately.

Martha is based in Ireland with access to horses not on the open market. We find the right horse for you, or the right home for yours. Backed by Hayley's 5★ performance eye and Martha's European pipeline.
Sourcing is the process of finding the right horse for a specific rider, level and ambition, then, where a horse is found in Europe, bringing it to the United States. Martha Tomlinson, based in Ireland, draws on a network across Ireland and the wider European market to identify horses that often never reach open sale. Martha has an impeccable eye, an honest approach, and years of experience matching horses to the right partners. Each is seen, assessed and vetted before it travels, and Hayley's eye from the saddle confirms the fit. The aim is simple: the right horse for the right person, found and prepared with care. Every sourcing conversation begins privately with Martha and Hayley.
Looking for the right home for a horse? We work with a small number of sellers to match quality horses with the right buyers. Our track record includes placing horses with amateurs, young riders, professionals and co-owners, always with the horse's next chapter firmly in mind.
Once you have your horse, we'd love to keep working with you. Many of our sourcing clients go on to training, lessons and mentoring with Hayley. The horse is the beginning of the relationship, not the end.
Looking for a horse, or placing one? Martha and Hayley are both involved in every sourcing conversation.
Tell us what you're looking for, whether that's a horse to buy, a training partnership, or a co-ownership conversation.
Martha sources from Europe. Hayley assesses from the saddle. Katie structures everything so it's clear, fair and professional.
